Q&A with Dr. Richardson
Dr. Richardson Answers Your Child's Eyecare Questions
How does an eye exam help my child's success in school?
Whether your child succeeds or fails in school hangs partially on whether they are able to see the world around them properly or not. If they cannot see, they will have a difficult time learning to read or write, will not be able to see examples up on the board, and may quickly become quite discouraged with the learning process in general. This has the potential to set a precedent that is not easily shaken, even after their vision has been corrected. It is, therefore, important to ensure that your child's vision is ready for the learning process from the very beginning. A comprehensive pediatric eye exam with Dr. Richardson not only includes standard tests for nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism, but will also include an examination of other essential skills such as hand-eye coordination, peripheral awareness and binocular vision.
